Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem: peace will encourage Christians to stay



In his speech to diplomats in the Vatican Monday, Pope Benedict hailed the latest attempt by the Kingdom of Jordan to re-start the Israeli/Palestinian peace process as a positive step in the dialogue. For reaction from the Catholic Church in the Holy Land to the Pope's comments, Philippa Hitchen talked to the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, his Beatitude Fouad Twal, who says peace would encourage many native Christians to remain in the land of Christ's birth instead of emigrate abroad.
