There are so many hymns that use the 'Ave' to address Our Lady. Whenever we greet her with that word , we're recalling the greeting the Angel Gabriel used and make it our own says music historian Monsignor Philip Whitmore as he brings us a sumptous arrangement of the haunting plainsong 'Ave Maris Stella' made by the great 17th century Italian composer Claudio Monteverdi.
