50th International Eucharistic Congress Opens in a few hours time in Dublin
The 50th international Eucharistic Congress is scheduled to open this Sunday June 10th in the Irish city of Dublin. Organisers said on Saturday that all was in place and participants had arrived in their thousands. Pope Benedict’s special envoy to the event, Cardinal Marc Ouellet, the Prefect of the Congregation for the Bishops, had also arrived. The Congress will open with Holy Mass presided over by Cardinal Ouellet in the Arena at the Royal Dublin Society. Monsignor John Kennedy is an official of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.
