Israeli airplanes strike Syria

(Vatican Radio) Israeli warplanes bombed a series of targets inside Syria early Monday morning, in response to Sunday’s attack in the Israeli-controlled Golan Heights that killed an Israeli teenager. The Israeli military said it struck nine targets inside Syria, all of them controlled by the Syrian army, including a regional military command center. In Sunday's attack, an Israeli Arab teenage boy was killed and two other people were wounded when an Israeli civilian vehicle was struck by forces in Syria as it drove in the Israeli-controlled Golan Heights.

Israeli forces have spent the past week and half in a ground operation in the West Bank in search of three kidnapped teenage boys.  Israel accuses Hamas of being the perpetrators of the abduction. Two Palestinians were killed on Sunday as Israeli troops searched for the boys, and more than 350 Palestinians have been arrested in connection to the case.
