Tensions high in Libya in wake of clashes

(Vatican Radio) Tensions remain high across Libya in the wake of fighting in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi. The clashes in Benghazi clashes followed a week of violent exchanges between rival militias for control of the international airport in the capital, Tripoli.

Since the 2011 civil war that toppled autocrat Muammar Gaddafi, Libya's government and new army have been unable to rein in former rebel groups, which continue to fight for political influence and control over economic and commercial resources.
