‘Vatican Weekend’ August 23, 2014 : spirituality and culture


(Vatican Radio) On  ‘Vatican Weekend’ for August 23,  2014  Veronica Scarisbrick brings  you echoes of the pontificate of the first  pope of the twentieth century who died on July 20, 1914, they say of a broken heart because of the sounds of war. He’s Saint Pope Pius X  who also happened to found the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music and  wrote a Motu Proprio focusing on sacred music. One issued only a few months into his pontificate as our popular Latin Lover  Carmelite Father Reginald Foster tells us.
