'Vatican Weekend' October 11, 2014

(Vatican Radio) As the Extraordinary Assembly of the Synod of Bishops on the pastoral challenges to the family is taking place here in the Vatican, 'Vatican Weekend' for Saturday October 11, 2014 features a programme focusing on this event. Among the highlights are an interview with the Archbishop of Washington DC Cardinal Donald Wuerl, a reflection By Monsignor Peter Fleetwood which points to how the real dramas in Catholic life are about sacraments. Also in this programme are two features which shine the spotlight on Pope Paul VI, the twentieth century pope to be beatified during the closing mass for the Synod on October 19th. While the first is a conversation with our popular 'Latin Lover', Carmelite Father Reginald Foster who shares with us an address Paul VI delivered in the Holy Land in 1964 in which he spoke of Nazareth as a model of what the family should be, the second is all about this pope, the moon landing and creation.
