Africa: Ebola aid begins to arrive

(Vatican Radio) Ghana has announced that supplies needed to combat the Ebola outbreak are beginning to arrive in the three West African countries hardest hit by the disease. More than 4,500 people have died from the outbreak which has swept through Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone.

In the United States, federal health officials on Monday issued new guidelines to promote head-to-toe protection for health workers treating Ebola patients. Officials have been working on new guidelines since two nurses in Dallas, Texas, became infected while caring for the first person diagnosed with the virus in the US.
