Syria: Turkey to allow Kurdish fighters to transit


(Vatican Radio) Intense fighting has broken out yet again in the embattled town of Kobani in Syria, on the border with Turkey. The increase in intensity follows two days of relative calm after Kurdish forces defending the city pushed back Islamic State fighters with the help of US air support. The Turkish government has announced that it will allow Peshmerga fighters from neighboring Iraqi Kurdistan to transit Turkey and reinforce the defenders of Kobani.
