Blessed Paul VI: 'Populorum Progressio'

(Vatican Radio) In 1967 Blessed Paul VI promulgates his social encyclical 'Populorum Progressio' on the development of peoples. In this document the Pope calls for all nations to initiate dialogue and collaboration so developing countries no longer risk being overwhelmed by debt.

In an effort to find out more about this social encyclical written by Pope Paul VI in the aftermath of the Second Vatican Ecumenical Council, Veronica Scarisbrick speaks to a Professor of Catholic Social Teaching at the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas here in Rome. He's Dominican Father Alejandro Crosthwaite.
