Indian president’s wishes for Labour Day ‎

Indian President, Pranab Mukherjee, has greeted the nations workers on the occasion of May 1st ‎International  Workers' Day or Labour Day, urging the nation to recognize the role of its work force in ‎bringing about rapid progress.   In a press release posted on his website, Mukherjee noted that the annual ‎observance “is an occasion when we pay tribute to the contribution that workers have made to progress, ‎prosperity and well- being of our society.”  “The increasing production and higher standards of living ‎that our economy has witnessed,” he said, “would not have been possible without the relentless efforts ‎of our vital labour force.”  “  Let us, on this day recognize and celebrate the enormous role our working ‎force is playing in enabling our nation attain rapid socio-economic progress,” the Indian President urged.  ‎
