South African dioceses review Pastoral Introduction to the Order of Mass

In South Africa 18 diocesan representatives, academics (St John Vianney Seminary and St Joseph’s Theological Institute) and members of the Southern African Catholic Bishops’ Conference  (SACBC) Liturgy Commission gathered at the John Paul II Centre, Bethlehem to review the Pastoral Introduction to the Order of Mass (2008).

This document is a “lay” and user-friendly version of the General Introduction to the Roman Missal.  Dioceses under the Southern African Catholic Bishops’ Conference had been asked to put together working papers from their experiences of using the new Missal for the past six years.

The general response from the responses seem to suggest that many people feel  that the document (southern Africa’s Pastoral Introduction to the Order of Mass (2008) is excellent and only a few modifications are necessary.
