'Nostra Aetate' remembered by Cardinal Francis Arinze


(Vatican Radio) From the 19th to the 21st of May the Catholic University of America is hosting a symposium by the title of “ Nostra Aetate: 50 years of dialogue with Jews and Muslims”.

The event is timed to coincide with the forthcoming 50th anniversary of this Vatican II ‘Declaration on the Church’s Relations to Non-Christian Religions’. A decree promulgated by Blessed Paul VI on the 28th of October 1965.

Among those to take part in that ground-breaking Council was Nigerian Cardinal Francis Arinze who was later to serve as President of the Pontifical Council for Inter-religious Dialogue from 1984-2002.
