HSBC India head sees money in green option

(Vatican Radio) A major international conference took place at Rome’s Pontifical University of the Holy Cross – Santa Croce – bringing together leading figures from government, business, and civil society, to explore how sound understanding of the human person and informed moral imagination can help to develop and take economic advantage of green industry opportunities - to be better stewards of creation AND make a profit.

One of the featured speakers was is the Group General Manager and Country Head of HSBC India, Naina Lal Kidwai, who told us the development of green industry and technology is not just a question of responsible stewardship: it actually makes good business sense.

“The world of business has been a polluter, it has borrowed for far too long from the environment,” she said. “Today, fortunately, [business] recognizes that there is an opportunity to do it right,” said HSBC India’s GM, adding, “in the long run, it’s the only way.”
