Muslims vent anger against Christian colony in Pakistan‎

A Christian colony in Pakistan has been terrorized by a Muslim mob that attacked and vandalized ‎churches, looted homes and set them on fire, and threatened residents with death over an alleged ‎desecration of the Holy Quran by a local resident.  Violence rained down on the Christian colony of ‎Dhup Sarri  in Lahore, Sunday afternoon, after rumors  spread that Humayun Masih was seen burning pages of ‎Islam’s holy book, which in Pakistan is an act of blasphemy.  Khalid Shehzad, a resident of the area ‎told The Express Tribune, that most residents of Dhup Sarri fled for their lives and said that the ‎accused is mentally instable and does not understand the sensitivity of the matter.  The police ‎intervened to stop the riots, using tear gas, but with little success. Even the deputy inspector general of ‎police was injured. The Catholic church in the area was attacked; Bibles and religious books were ‎burned. Some Christians have fled, others are still locked in their homes.  The fate of Humayun is not ‎known.‎
