Pope Francis: condolences on death of Italian Cardinal Biffi

(Vatican Radio)  Pope Francis has sent a telegram expressing his condolences for the death of Italian Cardinal Giacomo Biffi, the Archbishop Emeritus of Bologna. In his message the Pope pays tribute to Cardinal Biffi, saying he “served the Gospel with joy and wisdom and loved the Church with tenacity.”  , Pope Francis also praised the late Cardinal’s very effective direct style of speech and writing, as well as his preaching of spiritual exercises, especially those held at the Roman Curia. Cardinal Biffi died early on Saturday at the age of 87.
