Mayor of Gaborone brings environmental concerns to Vatican


(Vatican Radio) Mayors from some 70 cities around the world concluded a two day meeting in the Vatican on Wednesday focusing on caring for the environment and combatting the scourge of human trafficking. Participants met with Pope Francis on Tuesday to sign a joint declaration of intent, drawn up by the Pontifical Academies of Sciences and Social Sciences. On Wednesday they focused discussions on ‘Prosperity, People and Planet: Achieving sustainable development in our cities’.

Among the many civic leaders attending the meetings was the mayor of Gaborone in Botswana, Kagiso Thutlwe, who talked to Susy Hodges about the concerns he was bringing from his home city..
