Vatican Weekend for October 15, 2016 begins with Pope Francis’ announcement of a new consistory : we hear from some of the cardinals-to-be.  This is followed by a look at the General Audience of October 12, where the Pope renewed his appeal for peace and an urgent ceasefire in Syria.  Finally, we shine the spotlight on the death penalty: why a former supervisor of death row executions underwent a radical change of heart.
