The Indore-Patna train early Sunday Morning, derailed near Kanpur, in the North Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, perhaps due to a crack in the rails, killing at least 143 and injuring around 180.

India: Day of the martyrs of Orissa to be observed on August 30

The local Catholic community in Odisha has welcomed the decision of the Regional Conference of Bishops which has officially asked the Indian Bishops' Conference to declare August 30 as a Day to commemorate the martyrs of Orissa.
