Holy See urges UN member states to receive and protect migrants

The Vatican’s Permanent Observer to the UN in Geneva has urged member states to receive and protect migrants. Archbishop Ivan Jurkovič's appeal came in a statement released during the 108th Session of the Council of the International Organization for Migration.

On October 24 we celebrate UN Day, marking the anniversary of the entry into force in 1945 of the United Nations Charter. Archbishop Ivan Jurkovič, the Holy See’s Permanent Observer to the UN in Geneva spoke to Vatican Radio about the increasingly important role the Holy See plays at the UN.
