Archbishop Paul Gallagher, Vatican Secretary for Relations with States, on Thursday addressed participants at a Symposium that commemorates the 75th anniversary from the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Holy See and Japan.

Full diplomatic relations were established 1942, with Japan soliciting the Holy See’s mediation to end World War II and establish peace.
