The Bishops of South Sudan have said that the postponed visit of Pope Francis to that country is a call on citizens to embrace peace and create a conducive atmosphere that would allow for the visit to take place.

South Sudan bishop appeals for urgent humanitarian action

Thousands of vulnerable South Sudanese are at imminent risk of death from hunger and lack of medicines. Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe has launched an appealed to all people of goodwill to not close their eyes and their hearts to the suffering of the people of South Sudan.
