Sustained in faith

With the spotlight at the ongoing synod of bishops for the Middle East focusing on the difficult situation facing the Church and the Christian communities in the region, how do Christians themselves live out their faith in their homeland and what are they hoping will emerge from the synod? For an answer to those questions Tracey McClure turned to Sister Frida Nassar, a Sister of St. Joseph of the Apparition who runs a school in Jerusalem.
Referring to their situation as a tiny minority in the Holy Land, Sister Frida said "it's not easy for Christians here... we need to be morally sustained. ... in order to deepen our faith." When asked about her expectations for the synod, Sister Frida said she hopes "it will bring us the courage to continue to live our faith despite the many difficulties." RealAudioMP3
