Mons. Battista Mario Salvatore Ricca is the new secretary of the the Institute for the Works of Religion, IOR, also famously known as Vatican Bank

The Commission of Cardinals that oversees the operations of the Vatican’s Institute for the works of religion, IOR, otherwise known as the Vatican Bank, has named Mons. Battista Mario Salvatore Ricca as interim secretary of the same Institute. Mons Ricca will be in charge of all the meetings of the commission of Cardinals and is going to help with the meetings of the supritendence of the Council.
Born in 1956. Mons Ricca is part of the diplomatic service, working for the first session of the Secretariat of state and he is the current director of the Domus Sanctae Marta, Paul the sixth international house, Domus Romana hose for the clegy and the St. benedict residence. He replaces Mons. Piero Pioppo, who has been appointed as Nuzio or ambassador to diplomatic missions in Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea. With the appointment of Ernst von Freyberg as president and of Mons. Battista Ricca as secretary, the Commision of Cardinals has now occupied two very important posts as prescribed by the statutes of the Vatican’s works of Religion, which remained vacant for a long time.
