Card. Tagle appointed member of Congregation for Consecrated Life

(Vatican Radio/CBCP) Pope Francis has appointed Filipino Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle member of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life.

This is the sixth curial appointment for the Cardinal Archbishop of Manila. Moreover, Card. Tagle’s latest appointment came two weeks after he was named among the three presidents delegate for the 3rd Extraordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops. The synod is set to take place from Oct. 5 to 9 at the Vatican to discuss the theme of “Pastoral challenges to the family in the context of evangelization”.

The other presidents delegate of the synod include Cardinal André Vingt-Trois, Archbishop of Paris, France and Cardinal Raymondo Damasceno Assis, Archbishop of Aparecida, Brazil.
